Why OWR Peru Became Natasha’s Favourite Tour Ever

After travelling with four different tour companies, Natasha found something different with OWR Peru, something better.

In this short but heartfelt blog, she reflects on what made this trip stand out.

I have been on tours with 4 other companies and I can honestly say, OWR has surpassed my expectations and is my favourite.

Here are my reasons why:

1. The tour group was the perfect size of 14. This meant you could manevour around cities, book restaurants and get to know everyone really well. By the end of the trip, I felt I had made 14 new friends.

2. The age range meant everyone was on the same page on what activities to do, where to eat, early starts and early ends. Room mates were perfectly matched and it felt like my room mate Anna, had been my friend all my life.

3. Everyone came solo. This is rare on tours. It meant everyone was open to making new connections and experiencing the tour catered to their individual needs. 

4. The activities were well selected to ensure we had the right balance of action and rest. The one day hike to the sun gate and down to Macchu Picchu, and Rainbow Mountain was the right level of challenge. 

5. The quality of food in the inclusive meals were incredible. We got to try a wide-range of Peruvian food that were healthier and fresher than the tourist spots.

6. Seeing a range of landscapes and cultures on offer in Peru. From busy Lima city, to the greenery of the Amazon, to the inclines of Cusco, to the magic of Macchu Picchu. All were so different and beautiful.

In addition to all of the above, our guide JC is an incredible man, sharing his passion for Peruvian history and his national pride. He helped with translations in the pharmacies and ensured we were always safe. It felt like we had a funny, kind big brother.
