Rupa’s Second Trip with OWR: Thailand Edition

After experiencing Morocco with OWR, Rupa didn’t hesitate to book Thailand, drawn to an itinerary that blended city life, jungle adventures, beaches, and lakes into one journey.

Here’s her story.

Why did you book the trip?

Before even completing my tour of Morocco with OWR, I was already looking into my next trip with them. I have always been fascinated with Thailand so I did not hesitate to book when I saw it on their website as an option.  Their itinerary captured a mix of city, beach, lake, mountains, and jungle which was truly made it a unique trip as it captured a little of all the aspects Thailand has to offer.  I booked with OWR again because I knew I could trust what the company offers. OWR definitely has all the details down to perfection. You truly get to enjoy every moment without having to worry about planning anything even something as simple as what’s for breakfast.

How did you feel as the trip approached?

I was very excited and since this was my second trip with OWR I knew I was in great hands. OWR really gives me the ease I need to travel internationally. Very responsive to questions or concerns which come up before, during, or even after the trip. It is a company I truly trust.

How did you feel upon arrival?

I was at ease knowing that I already had transport to the hotel. It was easy to find the driver because they had my name on a sign. They spoke fluent English as well and identified themselves with OWR so I was not scared to be transported alone. In addition, our tour leader Meow was absolutely incredible. She was our “Mama” away from home. She welcomed us to her country as if we had known her for years and be prepared to EAT with her around! There are so many dishes, fruits and snacks to try along the way and Meow will make sure your bellies are full! I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable traveling alone or just wandering on my own during our free time. Thailand locals are very friendly and want to ensure you enjoy their country.

How were the accommodations?

All the accommodations were very nice as well because after a long day of sightseeing a good night’s rest is definitely wanted.  The staff at every hotel was very inviting and helpful if you needed anything or had questions on where to venture too.

How were the people you travelled with? 

The fellow solo travelers were also a bonus! We all instantly became a family away from home in a few short days. Now I feel as if I have many friends in other parts of the world that I can visit. We still continue our banter through WhatsApp and plan on future travels together. There is a sense of unity from get go as we all are the same age group and have the same passion to travel and explore the different cultures the world offers. It adds to the experience of solo travel as you are in a different country and with travelers who all are from different countries as well.

Personal highlights for you

The elephant sanctuary and Khoa Sok National Park were the highlights of my trip. Honestly every day was just better than previous. When you think it cant get any better than this the next thing on the itinerary just got better. It definitely is a beautiful country that has lots to offer.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of booking?

If you are nervous about booking on your next adventure, don’t be. I would say – just book it! They know what they are doing in the travel space. I definitely do not think you can go wrong with this company. I definitely cannot wait to book my next adventure with OWR.
