Get yourself settled into our chic hotel and then why not go for a stroll along the nearby malecón (seaside boardwalk) enjoying the leafy green parks and sweeping Pacific ocean views. CITY BIKE TOUR

Today we’re going to get to know Lima by taking to its bike friendly streets. We’ll explore the Miraflores and Barranco neighbourhoods and gain a real insider perspective from Lima native Franco, who’ll provide the cultural, historical, societal and economic backdrop to this captivating city. Enjoy the stark contrast of modern skyscraper towers, charismatic tranquil neighbourhoods and rugged coastline cliffs. This evening you’ll put Lima’s “foodie” reputation to the test as we head to our absolute favourite restaurant in the city.

      COOKING UP A STORM

In recent years Lima has emerged as a “culinary powerhouse” of the world and today you’re going to find out exactly why during our Peruvian cooking lesson. We’ll meet with a local chef and accompany him to one of Lima’s legendary fresh food markets to help select ingredients for our meal. We’ll then head back to his trendy ‘cevicheria’ restaurant and learn how to cook our very own ceviche and prepare the infamous pisco sour cocktails. A perfect day of eating, drinking and soaking up Peruvian culture.

After a short 90-minute flight we’ll land into the small Amazonian town of Puerto Maldonado and from here we’ll take an eye-opening boat ride down the Madre de Dios river towards our remote jungle lodge. Take some time to settle in and soak up your exotic surroundings, before heading into a fun-filled afternoon with a chocolate-making workshop. HIKE THE INCA TRAIL

Today we take on one of the world’s most epic hikes – the legendary “inca trail”. Built by the inca empire as a way to connect its most important settlements with centres of civilisation the trail is a breathtaking journey filled with inca ruins, cloud forests and majestic valley views. We’ll do the 1 day hike, catching the early morning train from Ollantaytambo to the fabled “kilometer 104” station. From here we’ll begin our 15km (9 mile) ascent towards the “Sun Gate”, where we’ll end our day with the most spectacular view looking down on Machu Picchu. We’ll spend the night in the nearby town of Aguas Calientes.

We’ll make our way back up to the iconic citadel, this time with a short bus ride, and spend the day there wandering the mystical ruins and learning the fascinating history of the ‘lost city of the incas’. It really is awe inspiring. In the afternoon we’ll make our way by train and bus towards our next destination, the quaint city of Cusco.

We’ll begin with a visit to the impressive Saqsaywaman archaeological site, wandering among its massive stone walls and learning about its history. Afterward, we continue exploring Cusco on foot, strolling the cobbled streets, admiring the colonial architecture, and discovering some of our guide’s favourite hidden corners. Yes, we can book you in for extra days at either our arrival hotel or departure hotel.

This is up to a maximum of 2 days on either side. If for longer, we suggest you book directly with the hotel.
