      Itinerary

      Day 1

      WELCOME TO INDIA!

Welcome to incredible India – a country that’ll capture your heart forever. The trip starts in Delhi, where a friendly face will be waiting to greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. As you navigate through the chaotic streets of Delhi, with rickshaws, bikes, cars and street vendors all jostling for space on the road, you’ll be glad you’re not driving! Depending on your arrival time, you may have the chance to get a short glimpse of Delhi before meeting the group tonight at your welcome dinner. Let the adventure begin!

      Day 2

      DIVE IN TO DELHI

Get ready for an action-packed day as we head out to Old Delhi, where we’ll wander through winding alleyways and explore the chaotic streets from the back of a rickshaw, marvelling at the iconic buildings that line our path. We won’t be able to resist paying a visit to Asia’s largest spice market, where the air is thick with the mouth-watering aromas of endless spices. To top off an exciting day with new friends, we’ll dine at one of the oldest restaurants in Delhi. The second you have your first bite of Mughlai cuisine, you’ll wonder why you’ve never tasted it until now. It’s game-changing!

      Day 3

      DO YOUR THING

Today you’ll have a full day in Delhi to do whatever your heart desires. We’ll give you our favourite recommendations but well up that list is visiting the Humayun Tomb, an elaborate pink structure built in 1570 that’ll make you feel like you’re standing before the Taj Mahal itself. It’s the perfect introduction to the grandeur of Mughal architecture and will leave you even more excited to finally visit the Taj Mahal later on the tour. The day is yours – so get out and explore!

      Day 4

      THE BLUE CITY

It’s time to say goodbye to the delightful Delhi, but don’t worry – the best is yet to come. Following a quick 1-hour flight, we’ll touch down in Jodhpur, your first taste of Rajasthan! There’s no time to lose, so we’ll head straight to the Mehrangarh Fort to lose ourselves in this epic structure, one of the largest and most beautiful forts in India. When you check out the panoramic views on offer here, you’ll soon realise why Jodhpur is called “the Blue City”.

      Day 5

      ARTS & CRAFTS

We’ll kick things off with a 2.5-hour art and craft walk through the stunning old city, where we’ll meander through blue-hued alleyways, admire beautiful temples, and even witness artisans crafting famous Rajasthani leather shoes and hand-knotted clothes. In the late afternoon, we’ll venture to the outskirts of Jodhpur to a local farm, where we’ll learn about sustainable and traditional farming practices before indulging in a 7-course meal made from fresh produce. You thought the food in India was great before, but this will knock your socks off!

      Day 6

      THE PINK CITY

This morning we’ll hit the road for the 6-hour journey to the Pink City of Jaipur. Along the way, we’ll make a pit stop at Bagru Village, a textile hotspot famous for its block printing techniques. After touring the community and learning about the unique process of carving wooden blocks, making natural dyes, and transforming plain fabric into a textile masterpiece, you’ll get to try block printing out for yourself! There’s no better souvenir than one you made yourself, right? In the evening, you’ll have the option to catch a Bollywood film at the renowned Raj Mandir Cinema. Lights, cameras, and action!

      Day 7

PALACES, STREET FOOD & DANCE MOVES

It’s time to explore Jaipur, so let’s start with the breathtaking (and massive) City Palace. This huge palace takes up a seventh of the old city, so we have our work cut out to see all of the best bits in one morning! All of that exploring will have worked up an appetite, so in the afternoon we’ll do a special food tour, with a social initiative that provides employment to 200 women from low-income households. Expect a mouth-watering journey of Jaipur’s best kachoris, lassis, rabris, and kulfis! And if that wasn’t enough, tonight we’ll learn how to groove like true Bollywood stars at a lively dance class. What a day!

      Day 8

      EXPLORE JAIPUR

Today is free to spend however you like. If you’re looking to get creative, you can’t miss the Blue Pottery Workshop in Sanganer. Here, you’ll witness the entire blue pottery process, from preparing the dough to painting the final product. And better yet, you’ll get to paint your own plate with the help of the artists – your chance to unleash your inner Picasso! Not feeling arty? No worries. The day is yours to spend however you like – whether that’s delving head-first into the city’s culinary scene, checking out another fort, or just enjoying a steaming cup of chai and watching the world go by.

      Day 9

      RANTHAMBORE NATIONAL PARK

Leaving Jaipur in the rear-view mirror, we’ll make our way to Ranthambore National Park. This world-class national park has it all: ancient fortresses, temples, and Bengal tigers that roam among the ruins and stalk through the jungle! On arrival, we’ll stretch our legs with a walk to Ranthambore Fort, a powerful stronghold that has seen its fair share of attacks and conquests throughout history. The fort’s well-planned construction and strategic location made it a major barrier for invaders – it’s a real sight to behold!

      Day 10

      JEEP SAFARI

Named after the 1,000-year-old fort that stands inside the park, Ranthambore was Rajasthan’s first Project Tiger reserve – so keep your eyes peeled. We’ll head out on a couple of Game Drives during our time here, and you might just be lucky enough to spot the tigers! It’s not just about the big cats, though. This park is also home to the sambar, the largest of all Asiatic deer, as well as many rare bird species, marsh crocodiles, pythons, leopards, and sloth bears. We bet you didn’t expect to go on a safari in India, let alone one this fantastic!

      Day 11

      AGRA + COOKING WORKSHOP

We’ll start the day by hopping on an air-conditioned train to Bharatpur, then drive on to the stunning city of Agra. After the day spent exploring Agra at your own pace, we’ll meet back up in the evening to take a Mughlai cooking class together. It’s time to unleash your inner chef! Influenced by Central Asian and Islamic recipes, Mughlai cuisine is as unique as it is fragrant. Under a chef’s careful tutelage, we’ll prepare classics like malai ki sabzi and onion paratha. Then, there’s only one thing left to do – eat!

      Day 12

      YOGA + TAJ MAHAL

It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for… It’s time to explore the Taj Mahal! We’ll start the day with a gentle yoga session overlooking the Taj Mahal before exploring every nook and cranny of this Wonder of the World. After our visit, we’ll head for lunch at an entrepreneurial café run by female acid attack survivors who set up this venture as a way to earn a livelihood. In the evening we’ll board a sleeper train for an overnight journey to Varanasi. Sleep well!

      Day 13

      SUNSET ON THE GANGES

After arriving early in the morning, we’ll fuel up with breakfast at a local restaurant before heading to Sarnath. This monumental site is the place where Buddha delivered his first sermon, and where Buddhism came into existence! In the afternoon we’ll embark on a fascinating walking tour of Varanasi itself. And when the sun is setting, we’ll witness a breathtaking candle flower ceremony and the Ganga Aarti fire ritual offered every evening at Main Ghat. To top it all off, we’ll enjoy a sunset boat ride along the Ganges, where our guide will share the stories of the many ghats and temples lining its banks. You’ll feel the magic in the air!

      Day 14

      BACK TO THE MADNESS

After breakfast, we’ll hop on a 2-hour flight back to Delhi, saving ourselves a full day of travel. The afternoon is all yours, so use this time to explore anywhere you didn’t get to see during your first time in Delhi. Whether you want to revisit a favourite spot or discover something new, it’s up to you! In the evening, we’ll gather together for our final dinner as a group, sharing stories of our trip and reliving our favourite moments. Let’s make it a night to remember!

      Day 15

      WAS IT ALL A DREAM?

As our incredible journey through India comes to an end, it’s hard to believe all the amazing experiences we’ve had together! We’ve seen the iconic Taj Mahal, gone on thrilling safaris, tasted delicious cuisine, visited sacred sites, and so much more – all while making unforgettable memories with a group of new friends. Saying goodbye is never easy, so let’s just say “see you next time”!

“Head and Shoulders Above the Rest”

Having been on numerous group holidays with more than 5 different companies, my standards are high and I can honestly say that Other Way Round is head and shoulders above all of them.

      “Not Mass Produced or Touristy”

What I loved about this trip was that it didn’t feel mass produced and touristy. There was a sense of originality to it and uniqueness about the trip and the itinerary.

      “Completely Hassle Free”

I usually travel DIY, where I arrange and book everything myself, and it was such a welcome change to have all that time and stress of booking the different elements of the trip taken away from me.

      “Trip of a Lifetime”

I will never forget this trip. Not only because of the country itself, but because of the experience that Other Way Round gave me and the other group members. It was a trip of a lifetime and you will be missing out if you don’t just book it!
