Learn Colombia’s Story Through It’s People

Triathlon Colombia: SWIM, BIKE, RUN Colombia (all while supporting locals)
Day 1
COLOURFUL GUATAPE!
Bienvenido a Colombia! We’ll be at the airport in Medellin ready to take you back to our accommodation in Guatape. Unpack, relax, settle-in and then why not go wander the colorful streets of the charming town. In the evening we’ll meet for a welcome introduction and then enjoy a group dinner where you’ll get to know better your fellow travellers.

Day 2
CLIMB LA PIEDRA
Today we’ll head nearby to La Piedra del Penol where you’ll climb the 765 steps to take-in the jaw-dropping panoramic views over the Guatape reservoir. It is spectacular. Afterwards we’ll head back to town where you’ll have some free time to do your own thing. You could zip-line, take a boat ride, do some water sports or simply soak up the atmosphere of the vibrant town. Don’t forget to leave time to get prepared for tomorrow’s triathlon!

Day 3
TRIATHLON TIME
It’s the big day. If you’re participating in the triathlon then you’re in for one unforgettable course. Get ready to swim the beautiful reservoir, bike the rugged Andes mountains and finish your race running through this kaleidoscopic Colombian town where you’ll be warmly greeted by enthusiastic locals. This will certainly be one for the memory banks. We’ll regroup in the evening for a few celebratory drinks and now your vacation really begins!

Day 4
MEZMERIZING MEDELLIN
Today it’s time to get up close and personal to the sizzling urban sprawl that is Medellin. First up you’ll visit Comuna 13 to witness first-hand the impressive social transformation taking place in one of the city’s most notoriously dangerous zones. You’ll then do a whistle-stop tour of the city’s highlights before heading to the trendy El Poblado neighborhood for a salsa lesson and dinner in one of our favourite restaurants in the city !

Day 5
FREE DAY
After a hectic few days, you can now take today at your own pace to explore Medellin further. You could take the metrocable out of the city to visit the nature reserve of Parque Arvi (with epic views en route). Or you could go to the museum ‘Casa de La Memoria’ to learn more about the victims of Colombia’s 50-year armed conflict. And if you fancy more adrenalin filled action there’s also the option of paragliding over the city.

Day 6
BEAUTIFUL JARDIN
Today we make the journey to the rural Antioquian town of Jardin in order to completely reconnect ourselves with nature. Known locally for it’s lush mountainous setting, plentiful hiking trails and abundant coffee farms here you’ll experience the local culture in its full authenticity. After arrival we’ll enjoy lunch in the beautifully quaint town square before venturing out on horse-back to discover the towns surroundings.

Day 7
HIKE THE ANDES
Now it’s time to head out on foot to enjoy the magnificent Andes mountains! We’ll follow a local hiking trail meandering through the Colombian jungle, passing many a rustic village en route and offering up breathtaking scenery. Afterwards you have one final afternoon at your own leisure to soak up the peace and tranquility of Jardin.

Day 8
CHARMING SANTA FE
Another day, another ridiculously charming Antioquian town – Santa Fe de Antioquia. We’ll explore the town’s historic center taking in its many cobbled streets, traditional churches and hidden squares. We’ll then catch a moto taxi to check out the rather impressive Puente Occidente suspension bridge. And we’ll round off our day (week) by chilling poolside in the absolutely idyllic setting of our beautiful colonial style hotel.

Day 9
ADIOS AMIGOS
Sadly, it’s time to say goodbye but just think of all the incredible things you’ve done. You’ve completed a Colombian triathlon, felt the buzz of Medellin, salsa’d like a local, scaled the Andes, visited numerous traditional pueblos, mingled with the locals & eat awesome food along the way. After one final breakfast, we’ll take you to the airport in Medellin to begin your journey home.
