      Itinerary

      Day 1

      HOLA ARGENTINA!

Immerse yourself in the culturally rich, cosmopolitan capital of Buenos Aires. Fly into Buenos Aires’ Ezeiza Airport at any time of day (we can help recommend flights), and we will arrange your transfer to our chic city hotel. This first day offers ample time for you to get yourself settled and go for a wander in the pulsating port city – there’s so much to see and do here! In the evening you’ll get to meet your fellow travelers and share your excitement for the epic trip to come.

      Day 2

      FOOD & BIKE TOUR

Today we get to know the city together by cycling through the trendy bohemian neighborhood of Palermo. Here, you’ll see the traditional low houses, learn about the city’s history, and revel in the green spaces that make Buenos Aires remarkably liveable. Next up is a foodie favorite: exploring the gourmet offerings of the neighborhood Recoleta. We’ll take an afternoon tour on foot through the culinary genius of Argentinian cuisine, which includes empanadas, grilled meat, dulce de leche, and of course a glass of locally made Malbec.

      Day 3

      CULTURAL IMMERSION & TANGO

Dive deeper into Buenos Aires with a non-traditional tour that teaches you more about the local people and culture than the sights and attractions. We’ll breeze through the heart of Buenos Aires at Plaza de Mayo, learn about its rich immigrant history in Puerto Madero, and feel the passion for the national pastime, football, in La Boca and Caminito. After a full day of exploring, we’ll meet up with some professional dancers passionate about preserving the art of tango. In this beginner-level class, you’ll surely learn some new moves to take home with you.

      Day 4

      VENTURE INTO ICONIC PATAGONIA

Following a hearty breakfast, we have a full day of travel ahead – the iconic peaks of the Patagonian mountain range await us. A quick flight from the Aeroparque Airport into the quaint mountain town of El Calafate is followed by a bus ride to El Chalten, where hikers and climbers from around the world base themselves to explore Glacier National Park. Settle into the laid-back, outdoorsy town that feels like you’re standing on the world’s edge and prepare for your upcoming hikes.

      Day 5

      TREK TO MOUNT FITZROY

Today we embark on a full-day hike through some of the world’s most iconic and stunning mountain peaks. The Laguna de los Tres trek is a 12.5 km round-trip hike to a crystal clear lagoon at the foot of Mount Chalten. You’ll be engulfed in the mountains, surrounded by snow-capped crags and striking granite peaks. While challenging, this 8-9 hour trek is doable with just a few short, steep sections and easily navigable terrain. Your efforts will be rewarded with a postcard-worthy view of Mount Fitzroy dusted in snow.

      Day 6

      EL CALAFATE FREE DAY

Rest your sore muscles from yesterday’s hike on the bus ride back to El Calafate. In this Patagonian town, you can relax and recharge at our cozy mountain hotel or explore independently. Some highlights include walking Avenida del Libertador to see the boutique shops, breweries, and quirky bars, renting a bike to explore the landscapes further afield, learning the history of the region at the Intendencia Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, or visiting an estancia (sheep ranch) to learn about the traditional practices of the area.

      Day 7

      PERITO MORENO GLACIER

If Patagonia is synonymous with jaw-droppingly beautiful mountain scenery, then the Perito Moreno Glacier certainly doesn’t disappoint. First, we will view the spectacular 5km wide wall of ice from a distance, listening to it creak while calving chunks crash into the icy waters 60m below. Then, we will get a closer look by ice-walking atop of it. On foot, traverse the deep crevasses and waves of the electric blue glacier for two hours before returning to the hotel in El Calafate for a well deserved dinner.

      Day 8

      WELCOME TO IGUAZÚ

Enjoy breakfast before a flight (connecting again via Buenos Aires) from the Patagonian region to the jungles and lakes of Iguazú – the change in setting is dramatic and awe inspiring! Iguazú Falls is one of the most famed destinations in South America. Made up of 275 distinct falls spilling across the Argentinian and Brazilian borders, the “Land of Falls” offers various unique viewpoints worth visiting from both sides. It’s truly epic!

      Day 9

      BOATS & BRAZILIAN IGUAZÚ

In the morning, cross the border into Brazil to revel in the panoramic views of the entire expanse of the gushing falls. Then, we will embark on a famous Macuco Safari on an inflatable boat that creeps to the base of the cascade within the spray of the falls. After lunch inside the National Park, you are free to explore on your own. You can visit the bird conservation park (it’s really cool)! or go in search for an even more memorable view over the falls with a helicopter ride.

      Day 10

      HIKE ARGENTINIAN IGUAZÚ

Another day, another set of spectacular hikes! Three trails crisscross around the falls, allowing you to soak in the natural beauty of the cascade and the surrounding jungle. The various circuits offer different vantages of Iguazú, so we’ll explore them all. Finally, we’ll cap off the day with a stop at Devil’s Throat Falls, where you can stand in the spray and watch the thundering cascades of water into the depths below. We’ll have one more local dinner as a group back in town and share together our favourite memories from the trip.

      Day 11

      HASTA LA VISTA ARGENTINA

Our time together has sadly come to an end. From here, you can return home or extend your time in the country with your newfound travel friends. We’ve hit Argentina’s absolute best and most beautiful natural landscapes in Patagonia and Iguazú and explored the unique culture of Buenos Aires. We’ve enjoyed cool city neighborhoods, seen (and walked across) crackling glaciers, and done enough hiking and biking to balance out all the tasty empanadas and glasses of Malbec along the way. We hope to see you again soon!

“Head and Shoulders Above the Rest”

Having been on numerous group holidays with more than 5 different companies, my standards are high and I can honestly say that Other Way Round is head and shoulders above all of them.

      “Not Mass Produced or Touristy”

What I loved about this trip was that it didn’t feel mass produced and touristy. There was a sense of originality to it and uniqueness about the trip and the itinerary.

      “Completely Hassle Free”

I usually travel DIY, where I arrange and book everything myself, and it was such a welcome change to have all that time and stress of booking the different elements of the trip taken away from me.

      “Trip of a Lifetime”

I will never forget this trip. Not only because of the country itself, but because of the experience that Other Way Round gave me and the other group members. It was a trip of a lifetime and you will be missing out if you don’t just book it!

      No.

International flights are not included in the price of our tours. This is something you would book yourself seperately.

Which airports should I fly into?

Our trip starts in Buenos Aires (EZE) and ends in Iguazu Falls (IGR). You should organise your flights accordingly.

You can arrive at any point on the first day.

You can leave at any time on the last day. There are no activities scheduled for that day.

If you need help researching flights, contact us at [email protected] or fill out the contact form on this page.

      Are airport transfers included?

Yes, they are included at both the start and end of every trip.

      Notes

      • We only do transfers between airports and our selected hotels. No other locations.
      • For those tagging on extra days, we will endeavour to include transfers up to 2 days outside of official tour dates.

Can I book a private room?

      Yes.

Our standard prices are based on sharing a twin hotel room with one other person of the same gender.

However, if you prefer a private then you can select this option for £750 / $950 extra.

Just let us know at the time of booking.

Can I book pre and/or post accommodation?

Yes, we can book you in for extra days at either our arrival hotel or departure hotel.

This is up to a maximum of 2 days on either side. If for longer, we suggest you book directly with the hotel.

Contact us at [email protected] for rates.

I’m traveling solo, will I be the only one?

      No.

Our trips are specifically designed for solo travelers so you will fit in perfectly.

Some people may bring a friend but the majority will always be traveling solo.

      How do I book?

You contact us either via the contact form on this site or by emailing us at [email protected].

You confirm your name, your age, which country you are based in and you tell us the destination and dates you would like to join.

We then send you an electronic invoice to collect your deposit payment.

To reserve a spot you pay a £200 / $250 deposit and then the remaining balance must be paid by 60 days before the trip.

If your booking is within 60 days, then you must pay the full balance at that point.

      Is the deposit refundable?

      No, the deposit is non-refundable.

However, if you can no longer make the trip you can transfer that deposit onto any other future trip.

      Do you have payment plans?

      Yes.

We can either split your balance into even monthly payments, or we can set it up so you can pay any smaller amounts as and when you like.

Just let us know at the time of booking.

      Visas, vaccinations & packing lists?

Two months before your trip you will receive a comprehensive pre-trip pack which tells you everything you need to get prepared for the trip (including info on visas, vaccinations & packing lists).

In general, most of our guests don’t need visas to come to Argentina.

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?

      Yes.

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and other dietary requirements. We will always make sure there are options available to you in the restaurants we visit.

Please be aware though that there will not likely be the same range of options as you have available in your home country.

Will I get to meet other members of the group before the trip?

      Yes.

In the week before the trip we will create a WhatsApp group with all the people joining the trip. This is a great opportunity to connect ahead of the trip.

Are the hotels listed on the website the actual hotels you use?

Generally yes, it will be these hotels.

From time to time we may need to change a specific hotel if for example it’s not available on those given dates. But in such situations, we will always replace with another hotel at the same quality.

      What’s the cancellation policy?

The £200/$250 deposit is non-refundable. However, if you need to cancel at any point, you can put this towards any future trip you book with us (in any location).

The rest of the balance is refundable up until two months before the trip. From that point we have to start committing funds to local suppliers and so:-

      > 30-60 days before trip – 50% refund

      > 0–30 days before trip – 0% refund

But, we also recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover you for any unexpected last-minute cancellation.
